LSD [LAST STANDING] DISTANCE

LSD (Last Standing Distance) is Heart & Soul Racing’s take on the world-famous Backyard Ultra format - a brutal, beautiful test of endurance, mindset, and grit.

Every hour, on the hour, runners set off on a 4.167-mile (6.7 km) loop. You must finish within 60 minutes to stay in the race. Fail to start the next lap on time… and you’re out.

There’s no finish line. No cut-offs. Just one goal: be the last person standing.

What Is a Backyard Ultra?

A Backyard Ultra is simple - but savage.

Runners complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour. The faster you finish, the longer you rest before the next hour begins. Fail to start the next lap on time, and your race ends.

The event continues until only one runner completes a solo lap. That runner earns the title of Last Standing.

Whether you’re chasing 3 laps or 30, the format is built so everyone has a target — your race, your distance, your goal.

Location

Set in the heart of Northumberland, West Benridge Farm (Morpeth) provides the perfect backdrop for this endurance showdown.

The looped course winds through farmland, ancient woodland and open trails - fast, flat, and made for pushing limits.

On-site parking, camping and aid facilities are available, with hot food and drinks served throughout the day and night.

For Everyone: Your Race, Your Distance

Every Yard Counts

You don’t need to be an ultra-runner to take part. Walk, jog, or run - every loop counts, every start line matters.

The course is fully marked, looping back to HQ each hour, where you’ll find food, music, and a buzzing crew area.

Bring your gazebo or tent to set up your own mini-base between laps - this is where the magic (and madness) happens.
